Unsecured VNC on GNOME: Remote

  • VNC desktop sharing is included by default with modern GNOME desktops (such as Ubuntu, Debian with the default desktop task, or Fedora Core) using an application called vino.

  • To use enable sharing of your desktop, go to System|Preferences|Remote Desktop and change the settings as you wish.

  • While in future releases (e.g. Ubuntu Hardy) you will be able to cut and paste between the remote vnc server (like vino) and the vnc viewer, vino does not currently support this.
